Western square dancing the first and third Saturday of every month

Cued round dancing begins at 7:30 p.m., square dancing begins at 8:00 p.m., and dancing ends at 10:30 p.m.

For our regular dances, the cost is $12 per couple, or $6 for singles, and callers and cuers are welcome at no charge,

A Special Note About Lessons

Lessons begin Sunday, September 7, 2010,

Lessons will begin on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, and continue Sunday and Tuesday nights each week through Graduation Sunday, November 21, 2010. Lessons will be held at the Sunny Acres Barn and will be from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM each night.

A Special Note About the Camp-A-Round Dance at the Cardinal Center Campgrounds- July 23 and 24, 2010: Round dance walk-ins are welcome (as long as the venue is large enough to handle the extra people.) The dance is from 8:00 PM. to 10:30 PM. on both Friday and Saturday nights. The cost is $10.00 per couple, per night. The workshop is on Sat. AM. from 10:00 to 12:00. The cost is $5:00. If the walk-ins attend Friday night dance and Sat. workshop, they are welcome to the pot-luck dinner. Bring table service, tablecloth, and a dish to share. Ernie W.

There will be a campground fee in addition to the above listed dance price. This offer is for H&C round dancers to enjoy this dance with many of our dancing friends, however, no travel credits can be awarded for this dance.

August 28 and 29, 2010, Square Dance Recruitment Weekend, at Indian Lake, Lakeview, Ohio, the H&C had at least two inquires from the last year’s recruitment dance. Many people from this area, and around the state, travel to Indian Lake on the weekends. The dance is FREE, so come and have some FUN, meet new dancers, and we may find someone from the Marion area who would like to take square dance lessons this fall. It is reported that callers and cuers are already scheduled for this event. The event will be held in a very spacious building, in a Flee Market complex, just north of Lakeview, Ohio. State park camping is near by.

Demonstrations

The Club gives demonstrations at nursing care homes throughout the year. Demonstrations are also given during special community events. Please contact a Club officer if you would like to make an arrangement for a demonstration.

Club Travels to Conventions and Special Dances

Over the years, the Hicks and Chicks have attended the annual Ohio State Conventions, The Mid-America Jamborees, The Moonbow Weekends, The Atwood Lake Weekends, and many specials of other clubs. During the Summer months, they also enjoy the weekly Wednesday evening dances in Columbus at the Whitehall Community Center.
