Ohio Square Dance Convention, Part One

This was the dance we look forward to all year, to spend time and dance with our friends from around the State. It was good to see them, and the many Yellow Rocks we received.

I took so many pictures. I am going to divide them into two separate parts.  You are welcome to save any or all of the pictures to your computer, and to share them.

Part One has pictures of most of the Convention.

Part Two has pictures of the COCDC Saturday night skit for the 2013 Ohio Convention that will be held in Columbus, Ohio.

And now, enjoy the pictures!

52nd Ohio Dance Convention, May 4, 5, and 6, 2012, by Akron Area Square and Round Dance Federation, Akron Fantasy Danceland, at the John S. Knight Center, Akron, Ohio.

This was a truly magical weekend at Fantasy Danceland.   Elvis was one of the judges during the dance contest.  The OSU cheer leaders received a perfect 10-10-10.  GO BUCKS!  Elvis promised to return for next years State Convention in Columbus.

Another Plus for the Convention was, the great, catered dinners they had on site. I wish I had taken a picture if it, but, I was enjoying the food.

There were 845 registered dancers to this convention.

At some points during the day, the tiled floor area had two packed circles, and the carpeted area had one packed circle. I didn’t get any picture of this because I was enjoying dancing to Phyllis Burdette’s cuing.

Pictures will continue on Part Two.
